FITTING
BULB (SPECTRUM)

By defining the composition of elements inside the bulb of the PLASMA SUN we can create almost any conceivable light spectrum.

More precisely we are able to reproduce every wavelength of light in the range from UV light to infrared light. The range that we can operate with our PLASMA SUN bulbs spans 180nm (UV) to 1200nm (IR).

We therefore easily reach the continuous full spectrum of the sun and thus produce real AAA class sunlight. At the same time, we can raise, reduce or eliminate the proportion of light in the UV range. Likewise, pure UV bulbs or IR heater are similarly achievable.

Parabolic and Pyramid
Reflectors

The geometry of the reflector controls the light distribution

PARABOLIC REFLECTORS

The parabolic reflector provides directional light. It’s the right choice if highly focused light is desired. With the parabolic reflector an intensity of up to 3 suns can be reached on an area of 50cmx50cm.

PYRAMID REFLECTORS

The pyramid reflector ensures a diffuse light with a uniform scattering in different angles. Cross-radiation also occurs, which means that even large spaces can be illuminated with a high degree of homogeneity. For the pyramid reflector we use a particularly reflective material. Its specially monostructured surface not only guarantees above-average emission, but also a long lifetime.

FULL
CONTROL

Potentiometer or Ethernet connector

In many cases, the choice of light control depends on type and size of the set-up that has to be illuminated. In principle (independent of the control method) the PLASMA SUN can be dimmed down to 30% power input. No spectral shift occurs when dimming down to 50%.

The light can be controlled manually via a potentiometer. The Ethernet Connector offers the possibility to control the light via a computer with appropriate light management software. This is the right solution for set-ups with a large number of lights that are networked with each other. Plasma International offers a light management software that is tailored for the electronic of the PLASMA SUN. Nevertheless, the PLASMA SUN is compatible with other light management softwares.

POWERFUL
COOLING SYSTEMS

Aircooled or watercooled

On the magnetron of the PLASMA SUN, only 300 watts are lost as waste heat (compared to 1450 watts total input power). This very low heat loss is a major advantage of the system.

FREEBLOWING AIRCOOLING

The standard and most commonly purchased cooling system of the PLASMA SUN is the free-blowing air-cooling that feeds the warm air back into the room. In this process the PLASMA SUN uses the air from inside the room in which it is located. For cooling, ambient air is circulated through the system and warmed air is expelled back into the room.

AIRCOOLING WITH DUCTINGS

Air cooling with ductings has the advantage that both the supply air and the discharge air can be fully isolated from the room via exhaust pipes. This is particularly useful if the PLASMA SUN is to be used in a room whose temperature is strictly monitored and should not fluctuate.

WATERCOOLING

The water cooling works similar to the air cooling with ductings. The heat is transported out of the room via the water. By using water cooling the lifespan of the magnetron (normally 40,000-50,000h) is increased to 60,000-70,000h.

INTENSE
POWER CLASS

The PLASMA SUN PS 1400 R has a total energy consumption of 1450 watts of which 1000 watts are transformed into useful visible light.

On customer request plasma lighting systems with higher wattages can be discussed.
