Horticulture

There are many possible applications of the PLASMA SUN in horticulture. Any agricultural crop can be cultivated efficiently under the PLASMA SUN.

In general, a lamp can illuminate between 15 and 40 square meters, depending on the light requirements. The pyramid reflector that is used in horticulture ensures homogeneous and diffuse illumination of large areas.

ON PLANTS

The main advantage for horticultural purposes is the true full spectrum of the PLASMA SUN, which strengthens the plants during their development. Among others, they develop a higher proportion of vitamins and nutrients as they absorb more of them.

The plants develop healthier under the PLASMA SUN and exploit their genetic potential significantly more. In addition to improving the quality, the formation of biomass increases by up to 75%.

Additionally, the true sunlight of the PLASMA SUN prevents any kind of transplant shock.

GREENHOUSES AND OUTDOOR

The PLASMA SUN is also particularly suitable as an Assimilation Light, since the plants do not have to get used to a different (artificial spectrum) when the Assimilation Light is switched on. Instead, the PLASMA SUN provides the same quality of light as when the real sun is shining.

If necessary, light sensors can be installed, which are determined for a light value. The output of the lamp then automatically adapts to the lighting conditions on site and always ensures that the planned amount of light is available to the plants at all times.

In 2010 the Wageningen University did a study on the growth of cucumber plants under assimilation lighting.

The plasma light (with its artificial solar spectrum) was one of the light sources that have been compared and it outperformed its competitors.

LONGTERM
STABILITY

The bulbs of the PLASMA SUN have a lifetime of up to 100,000 hours of operation. There will occur no shift in spectrum over time. Due to the absence of electrodes in the bulb, the light output is stable and flicker-free at any time, also during dimming.

DIFFERENT
REFLECTORS

Our parabolic reflector provides a parallel beam. The diameter of the spot in 1-meter distance is 50 centimeter and provides an intensity of 2-3 suns. Our pyramid reflector is a diffusing reflector. The parabolic and the pyramid reflector are our standard models. We also offer to possibility to develop a customized solution for our 360° light source.
